Robbie and Claudine Keane celebrate son's Confirmation day with lavish party

The couple, who got married in Dublin in June 2008, share two children together – Robert (12) and Hudson (5).

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, proud mum Claudine shared some photos from the big day at the Grand Hotel in Malahide, where the family came together to celebrate Robert’s confirmation day.

Captioning the post, she wrote: “Happy Confirmation Robert.

“This was such a special day to celebrate you a real milestone in your life, you are growing up so quickly.

“We are so proud of you and hope that you have so many more exciting adventures in store for you in your future. The world is your oyster so go get it.

“May you have the courage to embrace life while always knowing right from wrong and most importantly enjoy every minute of the journey.

“It’s all ahead of you and it was so lovely to get all the family together to celebrate you! You are always a polite and happy young man and we love you so much. Reach for the stars #confirmation”

She also shared a video collage with pictures of Robert growing and some special greetings from David Beckham, Patrice Evra and Steven Gerrard wishing him well.

And former Republic of Ireland player Robbie also shared an Instagram post to congratulate his son on his achievement, writing: “Happy Confirmation Robert. We are so proud of you keep being you stay focused and have the courage to take on all the challenges in life while enjoying your journey.

“You are kind, loving and caring, on this special day it was great to have the family all together for the first time in years to celebrate your big day. The world is at your feet, embrace it but remember always keep your feet firmly on the ground!
