The beloved dance competition show is set to return in January with Doireann Garrihy taking over from Nicky Byrne as co-host with fellow RTÉ radio star Jennifer Zamparelli.
Emily Barker, Laura Nolan, John Nolan, Karen Byrne, Kylee Vincent, Stephen Vincent, Denys Samson, Hannah Kelly, Ervinas Merfeldas, Maurizio Benenato, and Salome Chachua are all limbering up in the studio as they prepare to return to the dancefloor after Christmas.
They will also joined by new addition to the team, Michael Danilczuk, who won the second season of the BBC One show The Greatest Dance.
Michael was also a professional dancer on the Polish version of Dancing with the Stars, and has represented Poland in national and international competitions, as well as performing in Broadway musical productions such as Legally Blonde, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Rock of Ages.
Speaking about his new stint, he said: “I couldn’t be more excited to join such an amazing and much-loved show. I’ve only been in Ireland a short time but have received the warmest welcome and I can’t wait for the show to begin.
“Ever since I was little it has been my dream to dance and share my passion with others and now here I am about to start an amazing adventure surrounded by people who share my passion … you can’t get better than that!”
The celebrity dancers taking part in Dancing With the Stars will be revealed in the coming weeks while judges Brian Redmond, Loraine Barry, and Arthur Gourounlian will return to our screens once again.
It comes after RTÉ revealed that Pasquale La Rocca, who won the most series of the show with jockey Nina Carberry and also scooped up the top prize in 2020 with 2fm presenter Lottie Ryan, would not be returning in January.
Instead, the Italian will be taking part in his home country’s version of the show.
RTE confirmed the news in a statement, telling The Irish Sun: “RTE can confirm that professional dancer Pasquale La Rocca will not be returning to Dancing with the Stars here in 2023 as he has joined in the series in Italy.
“RTE look forward to announcing the professional dancer line-up for series 6 in the coming weeks.”
Dancing with the Stars returns to RTÉ One in January 2023.
