Angela Scanlon has shared a photo of her daughter inspecting her baby bump as her due date grows closer.

The RTÉ presenter is currently expecting her second child with husband Roy Horgan.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 37-year-old shared a series of photos from a recent check-up, including some adorable snaps of her daughter Ruby holding a stethoscope up to her baby bump.

Captioning the post, Angela wrote: “Call the Midwife!! S**t is getting real. How did you prepare babe for a sibling? Any tips welcome…. She seems pretty into it (depending on the day!!)”

Friends and followers flocked to the comments section to offer the expectant mother some advice on how to get Ruby used to her new role as a big sister.

One user said: “Books! Read books about it all, made a gift for the new arrival with my first and got a little something from new babe to my first. Worked a treat… enjoy”

Actor Victoria Smurfit added: “When number one meets number two in the hospital, (forgive numbering but hey ho) make sure number two is in the glamorous bucket (aka crib) and not cradled in your arms. Thereby meeting sibling on equals terms and they don't think mummy has a new favorite. I tell ya, it works x”

And TV cook Donal Skehan chimed in: “We did a toy that new baby gave big bro- however two years on baby bro has learned to whack big bro over the head with said toy so I’m not sure it’s sound advice…”

In October, Angela shocked fans by revealing she was pregnant for a second time. She had kept much of the pregnancy under wraps but shared her news along with her growing baby bump.

“SO, this is happening!! I’m pregnant and apparently already prepping for actual labour,” she said.

“Baby Horgan The Second (official title) arrives next spring. Feeling very lucky and excited & also nervous about jumping on a trampoline (forever).”
