The Lost Daughter Paul Mescal’s film debut to get world premiere at Venice Film Festival

Paul Mescal’s film debut will receive its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival this September.

The Normal People star will hit the big screen in The Lost Daughter, an adaptation of the book of the same name by Elena Ferrante, which tells the story of college professor who becomes obsessed with a woman and her young daughter while on vacation in Italy.

The film is the feature directing debut of The Honourable Woman star Maggie Gyllenhaal and will star Academy Award winner Olivia Colman as Leda, the professor.

Dakota Johnson, Peter Sarsgaard, Ed Harris, and Irish actor Jessie Buckley are also among the star-studded cast.

The Venice International Film Festival runs from 1st to 11th September.
