Nicola Coughlan has paid tribute to Bridgerton stylist Marc Pilcher following his unexpected death from Covid-19.

The hair and makeup designer had just won the Outstanding Period Hairstyling Emmy Award last month for his work as Department Head Hairstylist on the Netflix series.

Nicola, who plays wealthy socialite Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton, took to Instagram today to pay her respects to the “tremendously talented” 53-year-old and highlighted the importance of getting vaccinated against Covid.

Alongside a photo of Marc, she wrote: “So heartbroken by the loss of Marc Pilcher, the brilliant and visionary Hair and Makeup designer for Bridgerton Season One.

“Marc was so passionate about his work and so tremendously talented.

"Not even a month ago he won his first Emmy award. It’s a tragedy that he’s been taken so young when he had so much yet to do.

“Please also use this as a reminder that Covid is still a very real and present danger, please get vaccinated and mask up to protect yourself and others.

“My heart goes out to his friends and family, especially to his wonderful team... He loved and cared for you all so much and my heart goes out to you all.

“Rest in Peace Marc,” Nicola added.

The Galway native’s Bridgerton co-star Phoebe Dynevor, who stars as Daphne Bridgerton in the period drama, showed her support by commenting on the post with a series of heart emojis.
