Nicola Coughlan will launch a scripted comedy podcast with playwright Camilla Whitehill next month.

The Derry Girls and Bridgerton star revealed the news on her Instagram account this morning, saying she and Camilla would be joined by a host of famous faces in Whistle Through the Shamrocks.

In an Instagram post, the Galway native said: “Early this year when I was doing lots of press for Bridgerton @camillavalerie and I started writing a mad six episode podcast and then harassed a bunch of our ridiculously talented friends to be in it.

“It’s out next month and I can’t wait for you all to hear it. More of our insanely brilliant cast announced tomorrow, including one of your faves from #Bridgerton.

“Follow @whistlethroughtheshamrocks to find out more.”

Some of Nicola’s Derry Girls co-stars lined up to take part in the podcast include Louisa Harland, who plays the hilarious Orla McCool in the Channel 4 comedy, as well as Brenock O’Connor and Paul Mallon.

Bridgerton star Ben Miller will be playing Cromwell Dumblington, an evil English landlord who has comes to Ireland to ruin lives, in the series.

And Queer Eye’s resident hair and beauty guru Jonathan Van Ness will also take part, along with comedian Ed Gamble and actor Kiell Smith-Bynoe.

The podcast will hit streaming platforms sometimes next month.
