Tubs opts out Nathan Carter reveals why Ryan Tubridy dropped out of Late Late country special duet
LATE Late Show host Ryan Tubridy last night decided to leave the singing to the professionals – and opted out of performing White Christmas alongside Nathan Carter in the show’s finale.
Heart-throb Carter had earlier revealed that Tubs was set to duet with him on the Christmas classic, but he failed to do so on the night.
“He mustn’t have been on singing form,” Nathan today told SundayWorld.com.
“When I arrived at the Late Late yesterday I was told that White Christmas wasn’t going to be a duet and that Ryan wasn’t singing. I think he just wanted to let us (the country singers) have the limelight.”

The advance report that Ryan was set to duet with Nathan sparked ridicule on Twitter.
One commentator said: “Haven’t we suffered enough this year?”
Another wrote: “Thanks for the warning.”
A third joked: “I always wondered what the final straw for Irish twitter would be.”
Meanwhile, Ireland’s Queen of Country Philomena Begley was last night inducted into the Irish Country Music Hall of Fame after being surprised with the honour on the Late Late.
The award was presented to Philomena by country legend Sandy Kelly who pointed out that Philo is the first woman to be presented with the Hall of Fame. She joins Big Tom and Daniel O’Donnell, who were previous recipients.
Sandy said: "Philomena I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the Hall of Fame because not only are you the Queen of Country, you always were and always will be, but you are the most wonderful human being and best friend that any lady in country music could have.
“On behalf of everybody in Ireland, all the entertainers and all your fans, thank you.”
Philomena admitted she was shocked to receive the honour.
“I am shocked, I definitely didn’t expect anything like this.”
Ryan Tubridy added: “I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.”
