Nadine Coyle has addressed rumours that she will be appearing in the final season of Derry Girls.

The former Girls Aloud singer remained tight-lipped about whether or not she’ll be making a cameo in the upcoming season of the hit comedy, but admitted that she’d “love” to guest star.

Speaking to RSVP Live, Nadine said: “I love Derry Girls. That is actually based on the school that I went to, Thornhill.

“The writer of the show [Lisa McGee] went to that school as well. I would love to be on it.”

The Derry native even revealed what type of character she’d love to play on the show.

“I go from... I would like to be one of the Derry Girls in the school, and then I’m like, ‘I’m far too old for that…’ But they’re about my age acting that age, so maybe I can get away with it,” she said.

“Then I think I’d be great as a hairdresser that moved away to London and came back with a funny accent and then knows everything about everything.

“So yes, I’d definitely be up for a role in Derry Girls.”

The 36-year-old, who is currently a judge on RTÉ’s latest talent show Last Singer Standing, also praised Derry Girls actor Nicola Coughlan for saying that she used Nadine’s accent as inspiration for her character Clare Devlin.
