The 31-year-old was chatting to fans on Instagram Stories when she was asked for advice on the best way to get over a break-up.
Fresh from a recent split with Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice, Maura admitted it was good to grieve.
“Allow yourself to grieve. Spend time with the people you love and always remind yourself that everything happens for a reason.”
“The people who are meant to be in your life, will be in your life.”
Maura and Giovanni split in October after a whirlwind romance ended in tears.
The Italian dancer called time on their relationship in order to focus on Strictly.
In a statement, he said:
“Hey guys - I hope everyone had a great Monday,” he posted on Instagram.
“Going into another wonderful training week - thank you so much for your amazing messages and your support this weekend. I get to live my dream every single day because of you - so thank you, thank you, thank you. I wanted to say a couple of things…”
“Firstly, great relationships with great people can come to a natural end. This has been the case for me recently. There was absolutely no wrong-doing and this should be the end of any speculation,” he said of their split.
“Whilst I respect and understand interest in my personal life, wouldn't it be fantastic to instead use this space to raise awareness of subjects and issues which need the attention.”
“My eyes have been opened to so many things during my career. But I am learning so much from this series of Strictly.”
“The show has highlighted many important conversations for different communities and increased representation,” he said, speaking about his celebrity dance partner Rose Ayling, who is the show’s first deaf contestant.
“These are the conversations which deserve the time, energy and recognition. We must concentrate on what's important and how we can all make a difference in life,” he concluded.
And it looks like his commitment to the show has paid off as Rose and Giovanni head into the Strictly Come Dancing finale which is set to take place this weekend.
Maura’s split from Giovanni was not her only break-up this year.
The model experienced a split in May when she and fellow Love Island star Christopher Taylor ended their six month romance.
“There is no wrongdoing on either side... we still love, care & respect each other deeply,” she said in a statement.
“From the minute we met each other we’ve been very close friends and that will never change.”
“There is no regret. Life is about taking chances. We wanted to make this work but we have realised we work better being friends.”
“Whilst I appreciate people may speculate or create false stories, this is the truth.”
Maura went on to wish her former beau “nothing but the best” and added that she will “always be one of his biggest supporters.”
Chris shared a similar statement over on his Instagram story announcing the breakup.
He wrote: “After some very heartfelt conversations over the past few days, myself & Maura are very sad to announce that we have decided to part ways.
Chris said he and Maura "will remain friends.”
“We are both still on very good terms and this was a mutual decision where nobody had done anything wrong. We will remain friends, as we have been from day one and I will always been in Maura’s corner and have her back.”
“We are both going through a very tough time with this [at the moment], so please take any speculation with a metric tonne of salt, cos this is the only truth.”
“Thank you for all the love and support you’ve given us, it’s truly been appreciated.”
