Maura Higgins is said to be worried that her new beau Giovanni Pernice “is a player".

The former Love Islander and the Strictly Come Dancing star first sparked romance rumours after they both shared photos on their Instagram accounts from their seats at the Italy Austria game in Wembley Stadium.

On her Instagram stories, Maura filmed a panoramic shot of the stadium and tagged the location.

Giovanni uploaded a shot of him standing in a pink blazer with the caption: “#EnjoyTheRivalry #SupportResponsibly #StarOfTheMatch #Heineken #Euro2020.”

However, eagle-eyed fans noticed their videos were filmed from similar spots in the stadium.

Last month, the Longford native and the Italian dancer set fans into a frenzy when they allegedly stayed at the same hotel in Cornwall.

The rumoured couple are said to have been in the three-star clifftop hotel The Polurrian on the Lizard.

Following her high-profile split from Chris Taylor, Maura wasn’t looking for anything serious, but an insider told OK! magazine: "Giovanni is smitten. He always fancied her and slid into her DMs. It's very early days."

The source added: "Maura is enjoying the attention and she thinks he's so hot.

"He's really charming, but she is a little worried he might be a player."

Both Maura and Giovanni have been engaged in previous relationships. As well as Chris, Maura has dated Love Island co-star Curtis Pritchard.

Giovanni meanwhile has exes including include former Corrie actress Georgia May Foote, Towie star Jessica Wright and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.

"It's early days, but Maura is really enjoying getting to know Giovanni, and the feeling is mutual,” another source said recently.
