Fans of The Masked Singer are insisting that Westlife’s Mark Feehily was “robbed” after finishing in third place on the show.

The 41-year-old was unmasked as Robobunny during the finale on Saturday night, with Australian-British singer Natalie Imbruglia (Panda) named the champion and Charlotte Church (Mushroom) taking second place.

Mark stunned the audience with his powerful rendition of Snow Patrol’s iconic ballad ‘Run’.

But viewers watching at home were outraged when Mark wasn’t voted through to the next round after performing Aretha Franklin's ‘I Knew You Were Waiting’ with former contestant and Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts.

Taking to Twitter to insist that the Sligo native was snubbed after the show, one furious fan said: “Cannot believe Mark from Westlife didn't win... robbed. Gutted for him, he was brilliant.”

Another wrote: “Robobunny was robbed! Mark is absolutely incredible. #TheMaskedSinger.”

While a third showed their support for Mark, adding: “He might not have to win (sic) the show, but the super robot rabbit Robobunny Mark Feehily is absolutely the best singer ever and I called him the ‘real winner’ of The Masked Singer UK Season 3. I'm so very proud of you.”

Speaking after his reveal, Mark said: “The whole thing was a challenge, but it has led me to explore my voice.”

He admitted that he had to lie to his Westlife bandmates about appearing on the show to keep his secret.

He said: “Obviously, trying to tell the lads that I'm going to stay and extra few days in London, I'm going to chill out. They were like, ‘But you've a baby at home in Ireland!’”
