Martin King pays tribute to co-host Muireann O'Connell as she swaps roles with Karen Koster
"Karen, I’ll see you by the fire-pit for a chat,” he wrote on Instagram.
Virgin Media Television’s Martin King made a jokey Love Island reference as he congratulated his co-presenter Muireann O’Connell on her move to Ireland AM.
O’Connell goes from co-hosting on the Six O’Clock Show with King to breakfast, with Karen Koster now joining him on the show.
“So there has been a television re-coupling! @muireann.o has been my side kicking partner on the @sixoclockshow since 2017 and we’ve had a lot of fun making the show what it is. Good luck on @irelandamvmtv, you’ll be brilliant! So a brand new Six O’Clock show launches on Monday on a brand new set and with @karenkostertv as my new co-host… Karen, I’ll see you by the fire-pit for a chat,” he wrote in Instagram.
The move came as Virgin Media announced its forthcoming new autumn/winter schedule with new high-profile dramas, documentaries and the return of popular shows like Gogglebox Ireland and Living With Lucy.
Talent search show The Big Deal will feature a judging panel that includes Jedward and Boy George.
New drama series include Holding, an adaptation of Graham Norton’s’ best-selling novel which is currently shooting in West Cork and is a co-production with ITV. Backed by Screen Ireland, it boasts an impressive cast including Oscar-winner Brenda Fricker and Conleth Hill.
Derry Girls star Siobhan McSweeney and Moe Dunford will star in the new crime thriller series, Redemption. Shot in Dublin this year, the dark crime drama tells the story of DI Colette Cunningham who learns that her estranged daughter Kate has died by suicide.
