“For the first time in 20 years I could sing in front of millions of people and nobody was looking at me.

“I found that very interesting.”

He said in the past he had struggled with self-confidence in front of the camera.

“I didn’t like cameras being on me. It felt kind of heavy.

“It was an interesting experience. It completely removed that element and it gave me a new kind of confidence but interestingly when I took the mask off, the confidence stayed.

“So I kind of learned something from it, I suppose.”

Mark also revealed the one person he had to tell was his mum, and that his young daughter Layla, two, figured out his secret early on in the series and loved watching him on TV.

The Australian winner wowed judges Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, and Joss Stone on Saturday night when she sang Taylor Swift's hit Blank Space.

The judges looked stunned when Mark finally took off his mask at the weekend with Davina McCall declaring he had “such a soulful voice”.

The Masked Singer has had millions of fans all guessing who might be behind the masks for the last few weeks.

In his final performance, Robobunny gave a final rousing rendition of Snow Patrol's Run before the final clue, saying: "Winning The Masked Singer would be my second greatest achievement."
