Laura Woods says 'there's always a reason to smile' in wake of Ireland AM exit

The popular presenter took to social media in the wake of her Ireland AM exit to pose with the beautiful bouquet that was sent to her by her long-time agent Joanne Byrne of Presence PR.

Amid changes to the Virgin Media daytime line up Laura’s long-time co-star Anna Daly also departed the popular breakfast show.

Earlier this year, Laura was paired with Alan Hughes as Ireland AM's presenters were put into pods of two amid Covid-19 restrictions.

She told RSVP Live: “I know Alan well because we tend to mix around and cover for each other on annual leave so the team's work very well together. So it'll be a nice mix up.

“Putting together a show that's three hours long, when you're limited in terms of the guests you can have in-studio is not an easy achievement. I think credit has to go to the production teams for doing their best to fill those three hours with interesting and relevant content as well as news.”

The mother-of-two also hinted at the recent changes with another Instagram post of her with husband, as she wrote: “Lots of change around here lately, thankfully the husband has stayed the same.

“Celebrating 12 years of marriage to this great guy tomorrow, so #outout for the night leaving half the fam behind with dominos/movie/babysitter, adding the hashtags #anniversary #adozenyears #love

Earlier today Anna Daly paid tribute to “the people” who made her time on Ireland AM so special as she bid an emotional farewell to the show after 12 years

The mother of three is leaving the Virgin Media breakfast show to take on a role in PR and media training in The Communications Clinic.

As she said her goodbyes, she praised some of her former co-presenters including Mark Cagney, Sinead Desmond, Aidan Cooney and Alan Hughes, adding that while she first began as a stand in for Sinead it was the people on the show that she loved so much.

"Well you hardly thought I’d ride off into the sunset and not tip my hat to my @irelandamvmtv family, now did you?

"Lots of change/new projects but you might indulge me for a moment as I share with you a few thoughts on the AM years."

She added: "From my early days as a rookie reporter, it was always about the people. People make a job, don’t they?
