Laura Whitmore has shared a behind-the-scenes snap at the Love Island villa to mark the first day of filming.

The hit reality dating show is returning to our screens on Monday 28th June and Laura will once again be taking on the role of series host.

The 36-year-old flew out to Majorca earlier this week and has since given fans a sneak peek preview of what’s to come on this season of Love Island.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Laura posted a photo of her official Love Island crew pass and some cue cards ahead of filming.

She captioned the post: “Casual photo for the pass. Wind machine always a necessity!”

The Bray native also shared a short video driving through the Majorcan countryside on her way to the set, before teasing followers with a photo of the villa gates.

This year’s contestants are set to enter the villa today, with Laura welcoming them and instigating the first recoupling.

It will Laura’s second time presenting the addictive dating show after taking over from Caroline Flack, who stepped down following assault charges before taking her own life weeks later.

Laura will be joined by her husband Iain Sterling, who has been the voice of Love Island since Season 1.

The new mum recently revealed that her favourite Islander of all time is fellow Irishwoman Maura Higgins.

Maura, who is originally from Longford, shook things up in the 2019 season and quickly became a fan favourite.

Laura admitted: “I always say one of the best contestants ever from someone who was a fan and watched it was Maura Higgins because just her personality. She’s stunning but her personality and counterbalancing her personality with other people’s personalities.

“I think that that’s really important because a lot of media put a lot of onus on appearances. And while that’s one side maybe of television, you want the banter and the fun. You want people to kind of rile things up a bit,” she continued.
