Laura Whitmore has cleared up the confusion regarding her first-born baby’s name after it appeared her friend Keith Lemon had let the cat of out the bag on live TV.

Laura and husband Iain Sterling have yet to announce the name of their little girl but some fans have speculated that Laura's Celebrity Juice co-star gave the name away during his appearance on This Morning on Thursday.

The comedian and presenter, whose real name is Leigh Francis, was speaking about the new series of the celebrity panel show that features Bray beaty Laura, who hosts Love Island, and Emily Atack, best known for starring in The Inbetweeners.

When Lemon was asked about the panellists due to appear, he said: “We’ve got Laura Whitmore as well who is at home watching this with her child. So hello to Emily and Laura.”

Fans immediately leaped to the conclusion that he was referring to Laura and her new baby but Laura pointed out that he was actually talking about her fellow team captain.

She wrote: “Ha ha, yes he was! Emily and I are team captains. It’s a gorgeous name, but would get confusing.”

Whitmore and her husband Iain Stirling, the narrator of ITV’s Love Island, confirmed the arrival of their first child in early April.

The couple met at a TV awards ceremony in 2016 but only got married last year in a private ceremony.

Throughout her pregnancy, Laura kept up her filming commitments with Lemon and Emily on Celebrity Juice.

Inspired by her mum Carmel, Laura said she will be swiftly back at work while raising her little one - and has already been snapped breastfeeding as she got ready for Celebrity Juice.

She recently told The Telegraph : "When people ask if I'm going to give up work this year because of the baby, I'm like, 'Why? Mum did it in '80s Ireland!'"

Laura took to Instagram recently to thank fans and followers for their kind messages after the announcement of her baby's birth.

She has joked that her new-born baby has a cooler wardrobe than her as her daughter has her own Stevie Nicks onesie.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Laura shared a picture of a cute dark blue onesie with the text "Stand Back...Stand Back" written on it and emblazoned with an image of Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks.

Playing over the snap of the onesie is Stevie's iconic track 'Gypsy'.

Captioning the snap, Laura penned: "My baby's wardrobe is cooler than mine...thanks @itv2".
