Jess Redden and Rob Kearney celebrated the rugby star’s birthday today with a stunning rooftop view at a fancy Perth restaurant.

The couple marked Rob’s 35th birthday at C restaurant in Perth, which is Western Australia’s only revolving restaurant.

Pharmacist-in-training Jess (27) posted some photos on Instagram of the delicious dishes, saying the food was “exceptional.”

She also shared a photo of the couple enjoying their meal, wishing her fiancé a happy birthday with a short caption.

Jess made the move to Perth in January with Rob after he ended his 15-year career with Leinster Rugby to sign with Australian rugby union side Western Force.

They couple got engaged in 2019 with a romantic New York proposal and were hoping to get married in June 2021 before the pandemic hit.

However, with Covid and the death of her father last October, Jess has said that she doesn’t feel ready to set a wedding date just yet.

Speaking on Brian Dowling’s Death Becomes Him podcast recently, she confessed: “We were due to get married June coming, so June 2021. Then we were going to push it forward to November when we got the news about Dad in the same venue. Then obviously Dad passed away, so we cancelled those dates.

“For me, all I wanted was for him to walk me down the aisle so now that he can’t do that, selfishly I don’t want to do that yet either. I don’t know when I will be ready to,” she continued.

Jess is due to return home in May to finish her pharmacy degree but has said that she will always be grateful for what the move to Australia has done for her mental health.

“I’d never been away from Ireland for more than two weeks ever in my life so to come away for five months and to have such a positive experience especially after such a tragic, awful year. It’s amazing what this country has done for my mind.”
