It's twins - Dubs stars Paul and Fiona score a double
Dublin GAA stars Paul Flynn and Fiona Hudson scored the double over the weekend as they celebrated the birth of twins.
Confirming the news on Instagram, the true blue star who retired last year from inter-county football said: "What a magical week bringing these two beauties home with their legend of a mammy.
"Welcome to the family Louis and Saibh."
The message was accompanied by a photo of the proud daddy and Fingallians player carrying two baby car-seats down the corridor of the maternity hospital.
The pair, who got married in 2017, were inundated with messages of congratulations from well-wishers, with rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll being one of the first to offer his good wishes.
"Triceps are going to be shredded...huge congrats!" he said.
Dublin GAA legend Bernard Brogan, who is also the father of twins, was among those to congratulate the couple. "Fair play both, look forward to meeting them," he said.
Other well-known figures from the Irish sporting world to send messages wishing them all the best included rugby stars Sean O'Brien and Luke Fitzgerald and footballer Paddy Andrews.
Dublin LGFA also posted their own message of tribute to the sporting couple's news of their babies.
Alongside a picture of the couple, they wrote: "All in @dublinladiesg would like to send our heartiest congratulations to Fiona Hudson & Paul Flynn on the birth of Louis & Saibh.
"We hope mom & babies are doing well #Congrats @Fingallians."
Well-known for her exploits on the field as a former Dublin Senior Ladies footballer, Fiona is also a Fingallians star.
In her professional life, she previously worked as an Education Development Officer, working with disadvantaged communities in Dublin west.
She joined DCU in 2016 and was appointed its Access to the Workplace co-ordinator at the end of last year.
The couple got married in Co Cavan in 2017.
Flynn still remains heavily involved with the GAA - as the GPA chairman.
