Irish actress Orla Brady has announced how she’s finished filming season two of Star Trek Picard.

The 60-year-old Bray star plays a Vulcan style character in the hit TV show opposite Patrick Stewart.

Orla stars as Laris, Jean-Luc Picard’s Romulan housekeeper.

“I have wrapped on Star Trek Picard season 2 and it is time to take off my beloved pointy ears alas,” she confirmed on Instagram.

“Not sure I even like my own ears anymore…”

She has become such a ‘Trekie’ that she has even immersed herself in the famous Comic-Con convention in San Diego.

“I went there and I thought it was really lovely,” she recently told the Irish Times. “Take no offence, but I thought there was something lovely about cutting out the middleman. You do an interview with a journalist and the writer gives an impression of you and fans read it. You were there on a panel and fans were asking you questions.”

She adds: “And I remember thinking: this is all good. People are here as families. Misfits are here. There needs to be a place for misfits. No one’s drinking. No one’s fighting. They are all here dressing up. I loved it. I know that’s uncool.”

Orla moved to Paris at the age of 25 to study theatre and among her TV work has been roles in The South Westerlies, American Horror Story, Doctor Who, Poirot, Absolutely Fabulous, Casualty, The Bill, and Minder.

She currently lives in the mountains of southern California and married English photographer Nick Brandt in 2002.
