Ireland AM presenter Ger Treacy has shared an adorable video as she brings her new born daughter Kitty home from hospital.

Ger and her husband Bernard O’Toole welcomed their first child three weeks premature on December 5th.

Taking to social media, they shared an adorable video titled: “Bringing our Kitty home.”

The video showed Bernard carrying their daughter who wore a brown teddy-bear onesie to match her mum’s coat.

Ger and Bernard beamed with pride as they posed for a picture with their newborn outside the Rotunda maternity hospital in Dublin.

Colleagues of the couple, who both work for Virgin Media, shared their well wishes.

“This is just gorgeous,” news reporter Zara King commented.

“You make me wanna do it all again and I NEVER say that! Just gorgeous,” added Karen Koster.

RTE’s Nuala Carey said: “Congratulations!! Kitty is gorgeous."

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, Ger announced the birth of her daughter Kitty Rose O’Toole, named after her beloved grandmother.

“So no @VMSportIE on @IrelandAMVMTV for me for a while due to some breaking personal news," she began.

“Meet our gorgeous girl Kitty O’Toole. She arrived 3 weeks early, weighing 5 pounds 10 ounces and Daddy @BernardOToole and I are madly in love with our Kitty #KittyRoseOToole,” she wrote adding adorable snaps of herself, her husband and their little bundle of joy.

Virgin Media newscaster Bernard also took to the social media site to share his delight for their new arrival.

“The best Christmas present. We can’t stop smiling. Let’s hope she takes after her mother, who’s been a superstar. I even togged out in the Galway colours for the arrival…” he said.

Announcing her pregnancy news back in July, Ger said that the gender would be a "Christmas surprise".

She told RSVP Live: “We are both absolutely over the moon, we’re so extremely grateful and feel so lucky to be expecting. We’re really on cloud nine and both so excited.”

“We haven’t found out the sex of the baby, we’re going to leave it as a Christmas surprise.”

"There are few surprises in life and as long as the baby is healthy and safe that’s all that matters.”

She also spoke about suffering morning sickness from early on in the pregnancy.

“I was really sick with hyperemesis for the first few months of the pregnancy but thankfully that stage seems to have eased now and I’m feeling great and it will be all worth it.”

The couple met while working at Dublin radio station FM104 before they got engaged in 2014. They tied the knot in Co. Laois in July 2016.
