Influencer Terrie McEvoy has revealed that she had to have an emergency C-section.

The 31-year-old welcomed her first child, a daughter named Sydney, with her husband David Fitzpatrick on November 5th.

Taking to Instagram, Terrie told fans that she had to have an emergency Caesarean Section.

“Baby Sydney is here, and she’s safe and she’s well thank god,” she told her followers.

“The last week and a half have been an absolute rollercoaster, but it’s just been the best thing ever I can’t even tell you.”

The travel and beauty influencer thanked followers for sending their well wishes over the last were, explaining that she was taken into hospital last Thursday and was kept in due to “complications” with her pregnancy.

“Obviously there [were] some complications, which was so scary at the time, ugh God it was just awful.”

“But my plan all along was to just get baby here safe no matter what happened, I was willing to do anything,” she confessed, before thanking maternity staff at the Rotunda.

“So it wasn’t ideal to have the C-section so quick and for it all to happen at once, but I’m just so grateful for the staff in the Rotunda.”

“I’m so grateful that they knew what to do and how to manage the situation and that she’s here safe.”

“The midwives are angels on earth, especially the ones in theatre,” Terrie, who is a nurse herself said.

“I was a bag of nerves going in for the C-section cause obviously being a nurse being on the other side is really tough.”

Terrie announced the arrival of her newborn by sharing a gorgeous black and white snap of herself, her baby and her husband, that appears to have been taken just moments after Sydney was born.

“The beginning of the rest of our lives. Our hearts are ready to burst with love and gratitude. Welcome to the world baby girl,” she captioned the image.

The couple’s friends and other Irish stars sent their well wishes under the post.

Suzanne Jackson wrote: “My heart. Congratulations my love to you both. How amazing. Can’t wait to meet her xxx."

“She’s here safe and sound… best news ever,” said fellow influencer and mum Rosie Connolly.

“She’s here. I am so happy for you both the best news,” added Niamh Cullen.

Terrie wed her long time love David in sunny Portugal in September 2019. The former nurse announced her pregnancy back in May with some adorable pictures of herself and her husband holding a tiny baby-gro that read “Mommy and Daddy’s new travel buddy.”

“We have been keeping a little secret. Our little family has been growing and we are absolutely smitten!,” she captioned the picture.

Terrie previously opened up about pressure to get pregnant after she got married.

“At the beginning of our marriage I felt a lot of pressure,” she said. “But we have our plan and stuck with it and I'm very happy with my decisions. It's important to not make a decision based on external pressures”.

“I feel comfortable talking about my plans with my close friends and family. I do however think it can be intrusive if someone I am not close with just asks if I'm having a baby soon?

“Nobody knows what people are going through and it can also be frustrating explaining your decisions over and over.”
