Fair City star Ben Condron has said that he is “so proud” of his fiancée Rachel after she gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday.

The actor, who plays Darragh Collins on the hit RTÉ soap, announced the arrival of baby Willow in a sweet Instagram post.

He shared some photos of Rachel snuggling her newborn close to her chest, followed by a father-daughter selfie and another photo of the proud parents admiring Willow.

Ben revealed that Willow was born at just after 3am on the 13th July at the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin, weighing 9lb 10oz.

He added that he is “so proud” of Rachel and said that he can’t wait for their four-year-old daughter Bonnie to meet her new little sister.

Captioning the post, Ben wrote: “After a long few weeks my beautiful fiancé gave birth to our beautiful daughter Willow today weighing 9lb 10oz you did absolutely amazing @rachie_b_mua.

“I’m so proud of you, and me and Bonnie can’t wait to have you and baby Willow home soon for loads and loads of snuggles love you to the moon and back xox.”

Ben’s followers and friends flocked to the comments section to congratulate the new parents.

One user said: “Huge congratulations to you and your beautiful little family Ben! She is a beauty.”

Another wrote: “Huge congrats mate and welcome to the world Willow.”

Fellow Fair City actor John Ward, who played kidnapper Ciaran Holloway onscreen, penned: “Massive congratulations.”

The arrival of Ben and Rachel’s bundle of joy comes after the proud dad said that he “can’t wait” for his daughter to be born.

He added that Bonnie was “obsessed” with Rachel’s baby bump and was dying to meet her sibling.

He explained: “She can't wait [to become a big sister]. She is obsessed. Every day she wants to see the phone to see the pictures of the scan or what size the baby is.”
