Linda Martin has had life changing cosmetic surgery to give her bust a lift but insists she is “no Samantha Fox.”

The Eurovision winner revealed that she decided to get the breast augmentation to give her a confidence boost at “her age in life”.

And Linda (68), who has avoided plastic surgery for the majority of her illustrious showbiz career, has revealed she doesn’t care what people think about her new boob job.

The singer, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992 with Why Me, joked she is not trying to rival ex-Page 3 legend Samantha Fox in the bustiness stakes.

“Literally instead of buying push-up bras and all those sorts of things, I have got a little bit of perkiness now,” she told the Sunday World.

“But I am afraid if you are looking for Samantha Fox or anyone like that, it would not be me.

“It is a little bit of lift and, I suppose, the old dresses and everything sit nicely now and that’s about it.

“It is no big deal.

“And these doctors in the Avoca Clinic were super people, the doctor – people travel from all over Ireland to see him and he is the best.

“They want to get through to women around about my age who would be a bit scared and are just thinking there is nothing I can do, I am droopy and that’s it.

“But the reality and the truth is that there is so much that you can do without looking like a Page 3 model, because I don’t think very many people want to look like that.

“That’s what they were doing.

“People might laugh, but I don’t care, I haven’t murdered anybody. I haven’t done any harm to anyone and it is no big deal.”

While Linda may be fighting fit and ready to return to the stage, for now, she has been forced to accept that all her work for the next 10 months has been cancelled.

But for the first time in years, she admits that she is enjoying a bit of time off, and concedes that she has taken to the confines of social isolation.

“All of my work has been cancelled without exception and I don’t foresee anything happening until March or April of next year,” she said.

“But I can’t see anything changing until there is a vaccine and we are far from that to be honest.

“To be honest, I have loved the self-isolation.

“I have been minding myself and I have only seen my family once since lockdown, which has been difficult.

“But I live out in the country and my garden has never looked as well.

“I have every room in the house painted and the floorboards sanded. I have done everything that was on the long finger.

“I know not everyone will share this opinion but it has been nice to have a break from the madness of our business. The way I look at it is, there is nothing I can do so there is no point in worrying about it.

“I am still doing my animal rescue work. And I truly believe that when a vaccine arrives and gigs are back on, there won’t be a ticket left to buy for ages.

“We won’t be able to get a break from work once this ends, so I may as well enjoy the time off.”
