Elaine Crowley has said that her sex life is the least of her worries following her split from boyfriend of four years, Keith Conlon.

The pair have not been together since last April and Elaine has said that despite trying to date before Christmas, she has no time for romance.

“I was trying to date a bit before Christmas, but it’s bloody hard with lockdown,” she told RSVP.

“You can’t go to the pub, or out for dinner, to meet somebody so I’m kind of faffing “[Dating] wouldn’t be a massive priority for me at the moment to be honest with the year I’ve had, my sex life is the least of my worries,” she said.

“Listen, the panellists on my show put the fear of God into me with stories about apps like Tinder or Bumble,” she explained.

“People are getting catfished left, right and centre, with others saying they’re 6"4ft but turn up for the date and are 5"4ft. You don’t know what you’re getting."

“I like meeting people the old fashioned way. Maybe it’s a generational thing.”

In 2019 she said of her romance with Keith: “I met him donkeys years ago but I don’t know we kind of bumped into each other a few too many times and then it stuck.”

“Neither of us were looking for anything serious, let me tell you. We are two of the biggest commitment-phobes on the planet… but I like him.”

Elaine’s day-time talk show on Virgin Media came to an end last August.

She has recently taken up a role presenting Ireland AM on weekends alongside Simon Delaney.

“It’s a big, chunky show, and because there are two presenters on it now there is a lot to do - it is full on,” she told the publication.

“When I did it before with Alan Hughes, Mark Cagney and Aidan Cooney many years ago, you would sit around and shoot the breeze but it’s a more slick and well-oiled machine these days which was a bit of a shock to the system.”

The TV favourite said that the only thing harder than her 4am starts is picking outfits for the programme.

“I know it’s a tiny thing, but if you have so much as a scuff on your shoe the viewers will point out!

“I don’t get away with anything like that anymore and I didn’t even think of that when I joined the show.”
