Dancing With The Stars hunk Jordan Conroy has opened up about his devastation that Gráinne Seoige was eliminated from the show in last Sunday's dance-off with him as she was like a 'second mammy' to him.

"It is sad seeing people going, that's the horrible part of the show because I really didn't want to go up against Gráinne because she was my favourite in it," he tells the Sunday World.

"I literally spent every minute in make-up and hair with her chatting about her about loads of things.

"When we both ended up in the dance-off I was really saddened by that because I didn't want any of us to go, especially Gráinne.

"I'm mammied by everyone, I'm mammied by hair and make-up and she (Gráinne) was the one that listened to me.

"I'm a big mammy's boy in there, so everyone is like my mammy in there but especially Gráinne, who was like a second mammy to me."

Despite getting the maximum 30-point score, rugby star Jordan (27), from Tullamore, Co. Offaly, ended up in the bottom two - but wasn't surprised.

"Because of going from the week before when Erica and Misty were in the bottom two, two great dancers, I was kind of going 'you know what, expect the unexpected' so in a way I had a tiny bit of a feeling... That's just the way it goes.

"Maybe the people at home thought because I got such a high score I'd be safe but it didn't go my way."

Tonight, he will be doing a samba to Magalenha by Sergio Mendes.

Dancing With The Stars is on RTÉ ONE at 6.30pm.
