Irish country singer Cliona Hagan has revealed that she will marry her fiancé Simon Sheerin in May.

The couple got engaged in December after Simon staged a fairytale proposal at Lough Ree in Co. Westmeath complete with a “beautiful arch and flowers, and a red carpet and candles.”

And while the Tyrone native has happily gushed about the pair’s engagement since last winter, she has remained tight-lipped about wedding plans until now.

Speaking to RSVP Country, Cliona revealed that she and Simon will tie the knot at an exclusive location in Ireland in May 2022.

Cliona and Simon were good friends long before they started dating which meant there was no awkwardness when it came to meeting each other’s families.

After their engagement, the Dancing With the Stars finalist said: “It was great because he knew my parents and my older sisters already so it was a really easy transition when we decided to become a couple.

“Usually people have the awkwardness of being introduced to family and friends but we got to skip a few chapters.
