Actor Barry Keoghan has shared the love for Boxer Kellie Harrington. The pair were pictured at the Irish premiere of his new film Eternals at Cineworld on Parnell Street last week.

Kellie, who hails from Portland Row, grew up near Barry who comes from Summerhill.

The pair posed up a storm on the blue carpet with Barry and Kellie in boxing stances, fake punching one another.

Kellie brought home gold in lightweight boxing from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which were held in Japan earlier this year.

Chatting about their wholesome meeting, Barry told Clint Drieberg that it was “really great”.

“It was great, it was really, really great.”

When asked what it’s like having the Olympic gold medallist in awe of him, he said: “It’s pretty impressive, isn’t it? I love Kellie, she’s done a great job for the area, I have a lot of admiration for her really. Honestly she’s deadly.”

Kellie was not the only pal that joined Barry at the premiere, he also brought along two of his nieces, and his girlfriend Alyson Sandro. The pair debuted their romance to the public for the first time at the star-studded premiere of the film at the BFI IMAX Waterloo, London.

When chatting about his role as Druig in Marvel Studios’ Eternals, Keoghan said he has shown other people that they can achieve their dreams too.

“Its nice man, it’s nice being an Irish Marvel superhero to be honest, it really is it lets everyone know, and feel like they can get there as well.”

Keoghan spent seven years in foster homes during his childhood after his mother died of a heroin overdose when he was only 12.

In 2011 he had his acting debut, starring in RTE soap Fair City. Two years later he starred in Love/Hate as infamous cat-killer Wayne. The role gained him recognition as an actor and he went on to star in films ’71, Mammal and Trespass Against Us.

Since then he appeared in Dunkirk, Calm with Horses and Black ’47.

Barry will star in upcoming D.C Comics film The Batman as Stanley Merkel, an officer in the Gotham City Police Department. Fellow Irishman Colin Farrell will feature as rising crime lord Oswald Cobblepot. Robert Pattison will feature as Batman with Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.

He is also currently filming The Banshees of Inisherin, in Achill, Co Mayo, alongside Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
