Barry Keoghan and Kellie Harrington square up on red carpet at Irish premiere
Barry is thought to have made around $2m for his role as Druig in the upcoming Marvel film Eternals
Barry Keoghan was in fighting form at the Irish premiere of his blockbuster Marvel movie last night as he squared up to Olympic champion Kellie Harrington.
The Dubliner, from Summerhill in the north inner city, returned to the cinema he attended as a child, now a bonafide Hollywood star and one of the leads in Marvel Studios’ Eternals.
The 29-year-old attended the screening at Cineworld Dublin with Girlfriend Alyson Kieran and his nieces and friend from his old neighbourhood.
He was excited to see boxing champion Kellie Harrington, who hails from nearby Portland Row, and the two had fun as they posed for photos on the red carpet.
Known for his distinctive style, Barry was turned out in a brown and white floral V Neck jumper, paired with wide leg black trousers and black runners.
While Darling of Dublin Kellie, who won Olympic boxing gold in August, looked stylish in a long-sleeved black dress complete with heart sheer tights and white boots.
Barry was also joined on the red carpet by glamorous girlfriend Alyson who looked gorgeous in a strapless, leather dress. It’s believed the couple have been dating since February.
It has been a busy week for the pair who attended the premiere of the movie at the BFI IMAX Waterloo in London on Wednesday night.
The Dunkirk actor appeared alongside a galaxy of star-studded fellow cast members including Angelina Jolie, who was joined by her children, Shiloh, 15, Zahara, 16, Vivienne, 13, Maddox, 20, and Knox, 13 with son Pax, 17, the only one not in attendance.
Eternals sees a new team of superheroes with the story starting at the beginning of civilisation and spanning thousands of years. It features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.
Barry plays a character called Druig in the upcoming superhero movie, for which he is getting an estimated €2 million and which will be released on November 5.
He is also currently filming The Banshees of Inisherin, a Martin McDonagh directed flick about a pair of lifelong friends on a remote Irish island who find themselves at an awkward time in their relationship when one of them no longer wants to be friends.
Shooting has been taking place recently in Achill, Co Mayo, and starring alongside him are Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
In August the Sunday World exclusively revealed how Barry was the victim of a vicious assault in Galway and had to receive hospital treatment after being found battered and bruised near the G hotel.
