A Co. Clare pensioner has left everyone in stitches with his recreation of Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala look.

Padraig Howley (67), a singer and welder hailing from the Banner county, has been making his Instagram followers’ lives a little bit brighter with a series of hilarious photos showing him attempting to copy fashion models’ poses.

Last month, he channelled his inner Polo by Ralph Lauren at Lahinch beach and poked fun at some of the questionable stances and postures used in Zara fashion ads.

Now, Padraig has hit the mark once again with his own version of Kim Kardashian’s controversial look at last week’s Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The reality TV star and socialite – who is no stranger to daring looks – caused quite a stir when she arrived in a faceless, head-to-toe Balenciaga ensemble that covered her entire body.

Trying his best to replicate Kim’s divisive outfit, Padraig shared a photo to his Instagram account yesterday from his garden in a similar all-black number.

He wore a black oversized t-shirt, black runners, and what appears to be several pairs of black tights to capture the essence of the 40-year-old's red carpet get-up.

Captioning the photo, he wrote: “Kilfenora’s version of Kim Kardashian.”

Padraig’s hilarious recreation of Kim’s Met Gala look was a hit with his followers, who flooded the comments section with laughing emojis and tagging the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star.

One follower even wrote: “Clearly a case of who wore it better – him.”

Padraig first made headlines earlier this year when he decided to make a huge lifestyle change from smoking 80 cigarettes a day to committing to veganism and getting healthy again.
