Vogue Williams’ husband Spencer Matthews was left red-faced after he was replaced as Ronan Keating’s new best friend by fellow Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing.

Spencer and Laing were recording a new episode of heir podcast ‘6 Degrees from Jamie and Spencer’, when the pair decided to find out who the ex-Boyzone star preferred.

It started as Laing was recalling how himself and Spencer had gone to the rugby where “they “had a great time” and sat with Ronan Keating.

“What a hero,” Spencer says. “He stands a good chance of replacing you.

“Like in terms of immediate friendship. I just loved him. Straight away. Straight in.”

Laing then dares Spencer to “send him a voice note and see if he replies”.

“You're gonna ask him who he prefers, Spencer or me.”

Laing has a laugh at Spencer's expense

Spencer takes up the challenge, saying, “I am actually”, and proceeds to leave a message for Ronan.

“Hay Ronan pal,” he begins. “Jamie and I are sat recording our podcast. We would like just a quick voice note back from you with an opinion on who you prefer. Me, who has your phone number and has known you for a while? Or Jamie Laing, who you met the other day and I think we can both agree, isn't great.

As they wait for Ronan to get back to them Jamie recalls the “great moment where we were sitting in the crowd and I got a tap on the shoulder.

“And this lady said to me, ‘who are you’, and I said, ‘oh, just just nobody’. But she said ‘no, who are you, because you're sitting next to Ronan Keating and Michael Bublé.

“I was like, ‘sorry, what’? Spencer then turned round and Ronan caught wind of it and decided to record it while it was happening.”

He then plays Ronan’s recording in which the singer says: "So... me and Jamie are sitting next to Michael Bublé” as Spencer talks to the woman in the background.

"Someone just asked if they can get a photo of Michael Bublé."

“Michael Bublé. Again,” says Spencer, as it is revealed that this is the second time he has been mistaken for the Canadian crooner and both times in the company of Jamie.

“But the best thing about it,” argues Spencer, “is he's an immensely talented, good looking individual, right, whereas she wasn't sure who you were.

“She said to you, ‘Oh my God, you're so lucky to be sat next to those two superstars. Doesn't matter if she got it got it wrong’.”

“But she thought you were somebody else,” Jamie retorts. “That doesn't matter,” insists Spencer.

He then exclaims: “Oh my God, Ronan Keating has left a voice note. Hang on”, and he turns up the volume on his phone.

“We're going to listen to this live,” Spencer says, “so I haven't heard this before, it's just come in, Ready? And he plays the message.

Ronan’s voice is then heard: “Who are you and how do you have this number,” to Jamie’s delight.

“If you’re referring to the rugby match where I was sitting with Michael Bublé and a handsome blonde lad, I would say the handsome blonde lad. Yeah, nice guy.”

“I knew it,” declares Jamie.

An indignant Spencer then leaves a message for his “former” friend: “What an absolute load of garbage. Ronan, you’re out.”
