Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan is facing one of his toughest ever assignments – selling his $100 million home.

The 67-year-old Irish actor hoped to make a killing on his luxury Malibu home but after seven months on the market there has been little movement.

He and wife Keely Shay Smith (57) will have to try another day to cash in on the mansion which was their home for twenty years.

The celebrity couple first put the oceanfront property up for sale last September after making a permanent home in Hawaii.

The oceanfront retreat called Orchid House spans more than an acre with two homes that combine for five bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.

In 2000, Brosnan purchased two neighboring lands following the success of his films for a combined $7.35 million, property records reveal. They spent a decade turning the properties into one home of nearly 12,500-square-foot.

The mansion’s Southeast Asian theme was inspired by Brosnan’s time shooting the 1997 Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies in Thailand.

The mansion, which is situated on Broad Beach near the homes of Danny DeVito and Dustin Hoffman, includes a cinema, a climate-controlled wine cellar for roughly 200 bottles, a gym, a music room-recording studio and a spa with two soaking tubs.

A two-storey guesthouse also serves as a pool house with a bar.

Outside, the estate has carved teak entry gates the couple brought home from Thailand.

There is a saltwater outdoor pool with a waterfall and glass-enclosed areas for outdoor dining, “so you can have an outdoor dinner party and your napkins aren’t blowing around,” Smith told the Wall Street Journal last year.

They also brought in sand to create their “own private beach above the beach,” she said, so their children could play close to the house.

Brosnan and his family have since relocated to Hawaii after their now adult children grew up.

“I love Malibu,” the Irish actor said. “It has my heart.” But these days, “home is very much here in the islands.”

“We have a new dream now,” Smith added.

Brosnan made much of his wealth starring in in four James Bond films from 1995 to 2002: GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

His other credits include Dante’s Peak, The November Man, The Matador and Nancy Astor, the latter two earning him Golden Globe nominations.

He was recently seen in the Netflix musical comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga playing the grumpy father of Will Ferrell’s character Lars Erickssong, a contestant in the show.

It was recently announced he is to star in a sci-fi thriller, Youth, as a man desperately trying to stop himself ageing.
