Maura Higgins became a Pretty Woman on Thursday night as she appeared as Julia Roberts’ iconic character Vivian Ward for a Halloween party.

With a white crop top that was attached to a blue camo skirt with a gold hoop and a pair classic pair of over-the-knee boots, the Love Island star also donned a blonde wig to complete the outfit.

The Longford lady sported crimson lipstick, radiant bronze, large hoop earrings and a baker boy hat, to pull off the look that Roberts made famous in the 1990 romantic comedy.

Newly single Maura, who has just split from Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice, was the star of the show at the fancy-dress party in celebrity haunt restaurant Tattu for Manchester fashion brand PrettyLittleThing.

The party was hosted by her fellow Love Island star, Molly Mae Hague and Maura posted a series of video clips on her Instagram stories from inside the event as she amused her friends with some role play from the movie.

Maura’s outfit was inspired by that worn in the movie by working girl Vivian when she first meets tycoon Edward Lewis, played by Richard Gere, when they get lost while driving down Hollywood Boulevard.

The film became a global megahit and became known for a number of its famous lines, including Julia telling shop staff: "Big mistake. Huge."

The romance also saw Vivian say, "I want the fairytale", before Edward makes a final gesture wins her back in the film's famous final scene.

Former Love Island contestant Maura (30) and 31-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star, Giovanni Pernice, are said to have parted ways after four months together.

The Italian dancer recently said “there was absolutely no wrongdoing” as he opened up about his recent split from Maura.

After denying reports he was using a dating and networking app before his rumoured split with Maura, Giovanni has now taken to social media to say sometimes “great relationships with great people can come to a natural end”.

“Hey guys - I hope everyone had a great Monday,” he posted on Instagram.

“Going into another wonderful training week - thank you so much for your amazing messages and your support this weekend.

“I get to live my dream every single day because of you - so thank you, thank you, thank you. I wanted to say a couple of things...

“Firstly, great relationships with great people can come to a natural end. This has been the case for me recently. There was absolutely no wrong-doing and this should be the end of any speculation.

“Whilst I respect and understand interest in my personal life, wouldn't it be fantastic to instead use this space to raise awareness of subjects and issues which need the attention.

“My eyes have been opened to so many things during my career. But I am learning so much from this series of Strictly.

“The show has highlighted many important conversations for different communities and increased representation.

“These are the conversations which deserve the time, energy and recognition. We must concentrate on what's important and how we can all make a difference in life. Gio x.”
