Kathryn Thomas has shared the intimate moment her new baby Grace was born.

The RTÉ presenter and husband Pádraig McLoughlin welcomed their second child into the world on Tuesday, October 23 at 11.35am.

In the special snap Kathryn can be seen cradling baby Grace, who is wrapped in a blue hospital blanket, in her arms.

Pádraig can also be seen as he kisses Kathryn’s head while looking at his daughter.

Kathryn posted the picture and said: “And in one magic moment life changes forever #Grace”.

The cute white and pink hat that Grace is wearing had belonged to her older sister Ellie, who was born in 2018, and now has been passed down to her.

On Tuesday, Kathryn announced that her “little angel” had arrived when she took to social media to share the wonderful news with her followers.

"Welcome to the world little angel,” she wrote. “Our gorgeous girl, Grace Anne McLoughlin was born safely on Tues 26th @ 11.35am weighing 8lbs 3oz. Everyone is great. Baby sleeping. Mama knackered".

"A huge thank you to my amazing doc Hugh O'Connor and everyone @thecoombehospital.

"Blown away once again by the nurses and midwives. Nothing but incredible care, reassurance and even a bit of craic to keep you sane in those anxious moments… (Kelly take a bow) you are all wonderful.

"Also to Mary Wingfield and the entire team @merrion_fertility_clinic who were with us from the very beginning helping to make our dreams of family a reality.”

Kathryn, who revealed that they were expanding their family back in June, is already mammy to three and a half year old Ellie.

"So literally….I cannot keep our news in any longer.. Padraig, Ellie, Conor and myself are over the moon and feel incredibly grateful to be able to share our news," she said at the time.

"Our little family is about to grow. All’s well…. I feel great and we cannot wait."

The RTÉ star recently told how Ellie is “beyond excited” to welcome the new baby

Kathryn (42) said Ellie had “become quite protective”, saying “lift me out of the car mam, I can step down”.

“She’s like ‘and you don’t drink wine anymore, you just drink water’.”

And the Carlow native said she is not going to put any pressure on her body to “bounce back” after giving birth.

She added: “I was able to breastfeed with Ellie, that’s definitely my intention, but again I’m not going to put a whole lot of pressure on myself.

“I remember I was in the kitchen, Ellie was six months old. I remember making a cup of tea and feeling I’m me again.

“I was in the fog for months, adjusting to the lack of sleep, the emotions, hormonally and physically.

“That’s why when people talk about bouncing back I don’t think it’s realistic.

“I would say give yourself a break, you’ve got to listen to your body.”
