Irish WWE superstar Sheamus has undergone another round of painful nose surgery after suffering a second bad blow to his face.

The 43-year-old wrestler whose real name is Stephen Farrelly, had initially been injured back in May after the Celtic Warrior caught a stray blow from Humberto Carillo during a match on the May 31 edition of Raw.

Despite the injury, Sheamus, who was WWE United States Champion, didn't have to relinquish the gold and had his face surgically repaired.

After his first surgery, Sheamus was out of action for all of June but later returned while wearing a protective mask while he was wrestling.

The mask was knocked off during a match with Jeff Hardy on the September 20 episode of Raw and while his nose bled profusely Sheamus persevered and finished the match.

However, Sheamus failed to regain the United States Championship from Damian Priest who won the title from the Irishman at Extreme Rules on Sunday, September 26.

During the fight both wrestlers locked up and fought for control as Sheamus couldn’t get Priest’s shoulder down for a pinfall attempt after wrestling Priest to the mat.

Priest came up with running elbows, before the fight went out of the ring, and Sheamus went to lose the match as he was thrown through a table by Priest.

Sheamus then took to social media a few days later to share images of himself in hospital.

“Once more unto the breach dear friends," Sheamus captioned one of the images, before adding that he is now a two-time nose job champion.

It's been an eventful year for the former WWE Champion. On top of two surgeries, he also got engaged to his partner Isabella Revilla after proposing to her while back in Ireland in July.

Sheamus started his pro wrestling career in the European independent circuit in 2004 in the Irish Whip Wrestling. He debuted in the ECW episode for WWE in 2009 under the ring name Sheamus and went on to win multiple championships.
