Irish country singer Cliona Hagan has been celebrating the sun with a pic on Instagram in which she declares “hello summer!”

She adds in the caption, “Whoever said we couldn’t reach 25 degrees here” and uses the hashtag #irishsummer.

Cliona, who got engaged during lockdown, told how the enforced time off had given her time to reflect on what she wants in life.

The Tyrone-native told RSVP Live: “I was very focused and making sure that I always pushed myself to the limit as much as I could.

“But I suppose because we had this time off and had time to reflect, for me personally on what I want in life and it just really opened my eyes”.

Cliona, who said yes to her boyfriend Simon when he proposed on Christmas Eve, added: “Simon and I got to spend more quality time together and obviously it was great when he proposed and it really does put an interesting perspective on everything, for sure.

“To be honest, I have to say I have totally re-evaluated my complete life. Everything I thought was so important is all just small, small things to me now.

“To me, and I think everybody around the world, has seen what is important in life and that is your family and your health.

“It’s really made me re-evaluate things, I always put such pressure on myself. I never took a step back to just relax or have me time. I was always doing something or going somewhere.

“So it’s really taught me to re-evaluate what matters in life and stop sweating the small stuff."
