Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has denied reports he was using a dating and networking app before his rumoured split with Maura Higgins.

This weekend it was reported that Giovanni was active on celebrity dating app Raya as late as October 5th, before news emerged of his split from the Irish TV star.

But a representative for the dancer told MailOnline that was not the case. “Giovanni became member of Raya years ago and his original profile remained on the site. He categorically was not using Raya whilst in a relationship,” they said.

Maura and Giovanni are said to have parted ways after four months together, with Maura having agreed to take a step back to let her ex focus on the high-profile show.

Last week, the Longford star caused a stir when she removed almost all of the photos of Giovanni from her Instagram page, fuelling rumours that the couple had split up.

Maura has been keeping busy and recently moved into her new apartment, sharing a video with her 3.3 million Instagram followers. “New place is finally coming together - I totally forgot how stressful moving is,” she said in the post.

Earlier this week, the Love Island star showed off her bold new ‘statement fringe’ in a post.

The 30-year-old personality showed off her new look as she rocked up in a corset blazer dress from Maniere De Voir that featured a plunging neckline and black knee-high boots.

Sporting gold rings on her fingers, she also added a Louis Vuitton clutch as an accessory, but it was the new hairdo that stood out. She first sported the new look while on a night out with friends.
