Former international model Sophie Anderton has chosen one of Ireland’s top wedding designers to create not one dress but two for her forthcoming nuptials.

The socialite and reality TV star who now lives in Wicklow revealed that she had her first wedding dress fitting on Monday at dream designer Helen Cody’s Harold’s Cross studio in Dublin. The couple know each other since Anderton was aged 18.

She was propelled to superstardom in 1996 as the brand figure for Gossard bras. The advertisements received a record number of complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority.

She later went on to appear in I’m a celebrity get me out of here, ITV’s Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother.

The 44-year-old former IT girl is engaged to Polish aristocrat Count Kaz Balinski-Jundzill.

The pair were due to wed this year during the Spring but Covid-19 restrictions scuppered their plans.

On one of her official social media pages Anderton said: “So I’m here at Helen Cody’s. Ireland’s top wedding dress designer for my first wedding dress fitting.

“I’m so excited - well actually I’m going to have two wedding dresses.”

The couple, who live in Glendalough House, a 7,000 square foot house on 1,400 acres in Wicklow have been planning a small civil ceremony and a larger celebration for when her fiancé’s four children can attend.

They moved here in July 2018 after reconnecting in 2017 in London.

Dubliner Cody, who designed a wedding dress for broadcaster Kathryn Thomas, also hinted at being busy on a “Work in progress dress” and adding that there is “ nothing nicer than working on French embroidered fabric with 3D designs. Watch this space”.
