Singer Emeli Sande has come out as bisexual as she revealed her new romance with her “soul mate” Yoana.

Taking to social media, Sande, who was previously wed to Adam Gouraguine for two years said that her new partner is an “extraordinary woman”.

“It’s taken me many years to find the strength to be myself. I've struggled for a long time to accept myself as I am,” she shared on Twitter.

“I'm so lucky to have found my soul mate Yoana, she's such an extraordinary woman!

"Falling in love with her gave me the strength I needed! Feels so good to be in love and I feel happier than ever."

“I’m deeply touched by all your messages of love and support. Thank you so much for acceptance and kind wishes. Feels like a huge weight has been lifted, here’s to a new beginning in truth and happiness,” she added.

When asked by a fan if she considered herself bisexual she said “I guess so.”

“I'm not sure what I identify as but I just feel like I should fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.”

Opening up about their relationship she told Metro: “We met through music and I definitely feel happier than ever. It feels great.

“For me, true love and having love in your life makes everything fit into place.”

Her fourth album, Let's Say For Instance, is set to be released later this year.

“If you don’t really have someone to share it with or someone supporting you behind the scenes, it’s very difficult.

“So now I feel very fulfilled: I’ll always love music and I love my career but now it just feels that despite what happens, I can just enjoy life and be really happy.”
