Doireann Garrihy has been documenting a fantastic trip to Rome with boyfriend Paddy Wilson that took in some of the big draws in the Italian capital.

Bouncing around between the Pantheon, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, the RTE star also showed off the stunning views from her hotel room.

She kicked off a series of short clips on her Instagram story, with one of her bobbing her head to some music while drinking an Aperol Spritz.

She captioned the video with a gif that reads "Let the good times Aperol".

The presenter then films the Pantheon and writes: "There was a time where I knew the dimensions of this building, no joke. Leaving Cert Classical Studies".

Next, Doireann videoed a pastry and a coffee and says: "Got some fuel for the Colosseum - oh yeah."

Doireann then poses for a snap in the Colosseum in a gorgeous black and yellow floral dress.

She writes: "My eyes are closed in every single photo".

She then revealed that they are in the Roman Forum.

"I just wish we could see a little snapshot of the day to day lives of the romans back when this was the epicentre of the roman empire,” she writes.

Taking a break between all the sight-seeing, Doireann enjoys a gorgeous charcuterie board with different meats and vegetables and a glass of wine.

She then throws coin over her shoulder into the Trevi Fountain as boyfriend Paddy jokes: "You missed".

The pair then head to Vicus Caprarius - the Water City before enjoying a drink on a rooftop garden.

Doireann recently celebrated Paddy’s 29th birthday in a series of cute snaps showing her appreciation for her man.

She wrote: "Happy Birthday Pad. I don’t share a whole lot of you here because a) you’re kind of allergic to the oul insta and b) it’s nice to keep you to myself a bit.

"About time you joined the '29, feelin’ fine' club. Bert and I are lucky to have you.”

Bert is the name of her pet pooch who she had received last year for her 28th birthday.

They have been best friends ever since, although Bert recently had an accident.

Doireann was playing outside with her dog when he skidded and hurt himself.

She wrote: "I was throwing a tennis ball on the green with Bertie last night, he skidded on the footpath, and grit got into his little eyes.

"Tried rinsing it but his eyes fully closed...The actual drama out of me, could not bare it.

"The vet cleaned out his eyes and there are no scratches on his cornea."

"My dotie,” she added.
