A fan obsessed with Craig David has been banned from ever contacting the singer again.

31-year-old Tanya Jeal was served with an interim stalking protection order after the court heard that the woman believed she was his girlfriend.

The Kent woman allegedly turned up at his home and repeatedly buzzed his intercom while holding up a photograph of the pair that she had taken with him five years ago.

Highbury Corner magistrates' court in North London also heard that she booked into the same hotel as the 40-year-old, and would repeatedly use fire exits to reach his hotel room and knock on his door.

Jeal, who wrote a novel titled: “Trophy Hunting, It's a Killing Business,” also reportedly contacted his parents and once stood motionless at the front of the stage during a recent gig while holding up the same photograph she flashed outside his home.

Craig David reported that she posted on Snapchat: “I know you love me.”

The Metropolitan Police obtained the order on Craig’s behalf as he did not appear at the court hearing.

Michael Rhimes representing the Met told the court “It is clear she is infatuated with him. It is clear she thinks he is her boyfriend. He is not.”

“She has made comments attempting to incriminate his managing team. She seems to think this is a Britney Spears-type situation where she thinks his management is exploiting him.”

A self-confessed animal lover, Jeal went on a world trip with her dog in 2019. She was a missing person for five months earlier this year when she vanished in India.

In February 2021 she made contact with her family while in Dehli, and after the didn't hear from her again, she was reported missing to authorities.

She was eventually found safe and well living with a young couple over 1,500km away in Kolkata.

Jeal said she ran out of money and was limited by what she could do due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
