Conor McGregor resurrects controversial 'Mink Pimp' alter-ego to show off his €775 Gucci top

The Notorious, who has been flashing his wealth recently, posted a picture on his Instagram page of himself in the shirt emblazed with the signature Gucci logo alongside the caption, “The Gucci Mink Pimp only at @theblackforgeinn #happythursday.”

The Dubliner fell foul of animal rights organisations two years ago when he boasted online as the “Gucci Mink Pimp” about his “one-of-a-kind” Gucci fur coats.

The MMA fighter had declared that the two white mink coats that had cost him €47,000 and €69,000 in 2019 were “like art pieces now” as the company had since discontinued all animal skin clothing.

The self-proclaimed “Gucci Mink Pimp” said he intended to leave his collection to his children, adding: “Who knows what they will be worth in many years to come?”

Speaking at the time, Solidarity People Before Profit TD Ruth Coppinger called the social media post an “ostentatious display” of wealth and animal cruelty.

She said the Crumlin fighter spent “more money on two coats than most people earn in two years”.

The Dublin West TD, who has campaigned strongly for a ban on Irish fur farming, was speaking the week after the Government had approved plans to phase out fur farming in Ireland.

“If he was aware of it, he is going against public opinion on fur,” she added at the time.

The animal rights organisation PETA also called on McGregor to go fur-free and donate his collection of designer mink coats.

The organisation wrote a letter to the fighter outlining the cruel conditions involved in fur farming, saying that "animals on fur farms are never given a fighting chance".

And they urged the multi-millionaire to donate his designer coats and give up wearing fur.

PETA wrote: "Although it's too late to help the animals who were killed for your coats, you can help prevent more animals from suffering by donating these pieces to PETA.

"We would put them to good use in our educational displays in order to inform other people about the grim fur trade.

"Alternatively, we could give them to refugees in war-torn countries or people sleeping rough – the only people who have any excuse for wearing fur in this day and age – or use them as bedding for orphaned animals.

"Fur is dead – and since Ireland announced last week that it's phasing out fur farming, that message has never been clearer.

"So what do you say? Will you help us knock out cruelty to animals by swearing off fur and donating your coats?"

This Gucci Rugby shirt is described on the fashion brand’s website as cut in Italy from mid-weight loopback cotton-jersey.

“The rugby is cut for a slightly loose fit, and is printed with the signature Gucci logo reinforced with grosgrain inside the collar and side slits," it reveals.

This is the latest display in which the Crumlin native showed off his wealth, after he flashed a luxury watch worth €2.6 million and a ‘CMcG’ personalised shirt as he enjoyed a steak dinner at his pub The Black Forge.

Taking to social media, he captioned a video of his meal ‘Dublin Twelve, Miami, Ireland.’

The Jacob & Co. watch is just one of McGregor’s many pieces of expensive jewellery.

The watch, an Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette timepiece in 18k rose gold, is adorned with a 288-facet Jacob-cut diamond.

The Crumlin native purchased the watch, along with an Astronomia Tourbillon Casino watch which came with a cool €548,000 price tag, during a trip to Dubai in January 2021.

Speaking about McGregor’s visit to their store, a spokesperson for Jacob & Co. said: “We recently welcomed Conor McGregor to our boutique, where he purchased his latest Jacob & Co. timepiece, the Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette in Rose Gold.”

“A legend in the UFC and MMA, Conor McGregor also has great taste in watches. He already has several Jacob & Co. timepieces, and he just added this piece, which uses the Astronomia triple-axis tourbillon movement and adds baguette-cut white diamonds to the base dial and the lugs of the rose gold case. It looks great on him, and he can certainly pull it off.”

The face of the watch depicts an erotic scene of a man and woman engaging in a sexual act.

The posts followed a recent €15,000 shopping spree that Conor treated fiancée Dee Devlin to.

The Notorious and his long-time love have been together since 2008 and share three children together: Conor Jr, Croía, and baby Rían.

Taking to Instagram, Dee showed off some of her luxurious designer gifts while wearing a purple Balenciaga sweater.

In total, the haul came to a hefty total of around €14,769.

The mum-of-three posted photos of a maroon Chanel bag worth $5,700 (approximately €5,106), a silver Chanel watch with a frame of crystals that cost a whopping $9,750 (€8,734), and a pair of highly sought after pink and white Louis Vuitton trainers that are being sold for £775 (€929).
