Arthur Gourounlian has said that his husband Brian Dowling is “absolutely raging” that he gets more attention than him since joining Dancing With The Stars as a judge.

Brian, who won the second series of Big Brother back in 2001, has had to share the spotlight with his dancer husband since he took over from Julian Benson on the RTÉ show in January.

Arthur said that, for the first time since they’ve been together, he gets recognised more than Brian on the streets.

The 41-year-old said: “He’s raging! He’s absolutely raging. We went to the parade in Newbridge for St Patrick’s Day and I didn’t realise how many kids watched the show.

“So, I’m there with my big hair styled and all the kids came and took pictures [saying], ‘Arthur, Arthur!’ and I was like ‘Okay, I’ll take another picture.’

“And then the mums and dads were like, ‘Brian, we still love you. We voted for you 20 years ago.’

“I’m like, ‘Your time is up! It’s all about me now!’”

But Arthur said that there's no real jealousy there, insisting that his former reality star husband is extremely supportive of his career.

He explained: “He’s the most supportive husband. He’s like, ‘Go shine on your own.’

“I moved to Ireland for him. If I wasn’t married to Brian, I’d be in LA or somewhere else but I love him, I moved here for him to build a family so he’s happy that this is happening. He’s so happy for me.”

The Armenian said that the next step for the couple is to start a family and added that it’s his biggest dream to have a child.

He said: “I’ve said before that what we’re working for is family. Everything in my life, there’s nothing I want to do more. I’ve done everything and now I want a family.

“I want to build an empire of Dowling-Gourounlian. That’s what I want. I would give up everything tomorrow to have a baby.”
