Aoibhín Garrihy has thanked hospital staff at University Hospital Galway “from the bottom of our hearts” after she and husband John Burke welcomed their third child into the world last week.

The former Fair City actress gave birth on Monday a daughter the couple named Isla.

In a post on her Instagram, Aoibhín said she’s in “complete awe” of the staff who helped deliver her baby.

“Our third visit to University Hospital Galway to bring our third little girl into the world and every time we are left in complete awe of the team of Doctors, Nurses, Midwives and Carers who seem to me to lead with the heart…,” she wrote.

“In a time when things have been difficult, to say the least, for those working in maternity care, the level of empathy and compassion shown ALWAYS has been second to none and @johnjohnburke and I will be forever grateful.”

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” she added.

Sharing a photo of their baby girl on Instagram, the actress wrote: “Our littlest love, Isla Burke, who arrived on Monday, making us the happiest, luckiest bunch in the whole world.”

The 34-year-old who is already mum to daughters Hanorah and Líobhan, shared an adorable video of her daughters meeting their little sister for the first time after bringing Isla home.

When Aoibhin introduced Isla to her sisters, they were jumping for joy and they had huge grins on their faces.

Stevie Wonder's Isn't She Lovely was playing in the background and when Isla started to cry, Hanorah says: "Don't cry."

At the end of the video, Aoibhin shared an adorable snap of Hanorah holding her baby sister.
