This week, Tom and Molly Martens were freed from prison in the US after they were granted bail pending a retrial in the case of the murder of Limerick dad of two Jason Corbett.

Jason was beaten to death on August 2, 2015 and the father and daughter served 44 months in jail before their murder convictions were overturned.

Incredibly, the trial is back to square one now and for the Irish Independent’s Ralph Riegel, who has covered the case since the beginning, the future road remains uncertain.
