Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the country “will not forgive” Russian forces for their actions in his latest address.

He vowed to “find every bastard” who destroyed cities, shot at civilians, and bombed Ukrainian land.

Speaking on ‘Forgiveness Sunday’ on March 6th, Zelensky said that the word "forgiveness" has lost its meaning.

“We will not forgive the destroyed houses,” he said.

“We will not forgive the missile that our air defence shot down over Okhmatdyt today. And more than 500 other such missiles that hit our land. All over Ukraine. Hit our people and children.

"We will not forgive the shooting of unarmed people. Destruction of our infrastructure. We. Will. Not. Forgive.

“Hundreds and hundreds of victims. Thousands and thousands of sufferings. And God will not forgive. Not today. Not tomorrow. Never.”

Continuing, Zelensky said: “How many such families have died in Ukraine?

“We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will punish everyone who committed atrocities in this war on our land.

“We will find every bastard who shot at our cities, our people, who bombed our land, who launched rockets.

“There will be no quiet place on this earth for you – except for the grave.”

Meanwhile, President Zelensky’s wife Olena has made an emotional plea to international media to report the “terrible truth” of Russian forces killing children in their attack on Ukraine.

In five posts on Instagram, written in Ukrainian, French, German, English and Russian, Olena Zelensky shared pictures of some of the young children who had been killed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began last month.

She claimed that at least 38 children have already died as a result of the invasion, adding: “This figure might be increasing this very moment due to the shelling of our peaceful cities.”

She said: “I appeal to all the unbiased media in the world!

“Tell this terrible truth: Russian invaders are killing Ukrainian children. Tell it to Russian mothers - let them know what exactly their sons are doing here, in Ukraine.

“Show these photos to Russian women - your husbands, brothers, compatriots are killing Ukrainian children! Let them know that they are personally responsible for the death of every Ukrainian child because they gave their tacit consent to these crimes.”
