A WOMAN has been injured after a suspected hit and run accident in Limerick city centre last night.
An area was cordoned off on William Street by gardai causing severe traffic disruption in the area.
According to the Garda Press Office the traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car happened just after midnight.
“A female pedestrian in her late 50s was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
“The road remains closed for a technical examination. No arrests have been made at this time.”
