A hilariously awkward clip from 2014 has resurfaced on various social media platforms, showing the absolute shock of an American presenter when he learns Ireland uses the euro currency.
IDA Ireland CEO Martin Shanahan was discussing the euro currency on CNBC news program "Squawk Box", when he was interrupted by one of the presenters who asked, "You have pounds anyway don't you still?"
"Why do you have euro in Ireland?" Presenter Joe Kernan goes on to ask.
The conversation continues, getting more and more awkward as Martin Shanahan politely tries to explain that Ireland is separate to the UK.
