A notorious US double killer has revealed his plans to move to “beautiful” Northern Ireland to spend the rest of his life with his Ulster wife, who claims her husband is “no monster”.

Jacob Ind stabbed and shot his mother and stepfather in the Woodland Park area of Colorado in 1992 when he was just 15 years old.

Now 43 years old, Ind, who claimed he killed his parents because they sexually and physically abused him, and was released from prison last autumn, hit global headlines during his 1994 trial for killing Pamela and Kermode Jordan.

He was also the subject of a documentary in 2013 called Lost for Life.

Having had his initial conviction for first-degree murder overturned in 2017 and downgraded to second-degree murder, he was sentenced to a lesser term and became eligible for parole.

He was contacted by his Northern Irish wife, Denise Stalford (34), who started writing to Ind while he was in prison, after she watched a documentary about his trial.

Speaking about his plans to move to Northern Ireland, Ind said moving there is his "super long term goal".

He added: "That were my wife's family is and where her kid’s family is.

"I would love to get a fresh start there were people don't know me as my crime and just know me as Denise's husband.

"It's a beautiful country. I just need a good place to get a fresh start."

When Ind was finally released from prison he spoke of how Mrs Stalford, who he had been married to for three years at this stage, was waiting for him in the parking area.

He explained: "It was awesome. I got a big old hug.

"I took my stuff in the van and we took off and I was sitting in the back seat and got to hold her hand and I was not letting go."

Speaking previously of her relationship with Ind, Mrs Stalford said: "He's not a monster. He's never been a monster."

She also said marrying Ind was the "craziest thing I've done".

Now Mrs Salford's former partner, Ashley Byrne, who has a 13-year-old child with her, has spoken of his fears that the double killer will be around his child.

He said: "Ind was serving two life sentences and I believed he'd still be in prison when my son turned 18.

"That's what kept me going. I had hoped that when my son became an adult we could re-establish our relationship.

"Now I'm faced with either Denise taking my son to America or Ind coming to Northern Ireland to live with them."
