Weather warnings issued as Storm Eunice arrives in Northern Ireland
Disruption and heavy snow has been reported in the Glenshane Pass area where there was a multi-vehicle collision
Storm Eunice battered the east coast of Northern Ireland this morning, flooding roadways around the Glenarm area of County Antrim.
What few brave pedestrians went out found themselves dodging huge waves as they crashed into concrete wave barriers from Larne and along Carnfunnock Country Park.
The British Met Office has issued warnings for ice and wind in Northern Ireland and the risk of damage to buildings and gusts in excess of 90mph across the wider UK.
Snowy showers and further high winds are expected to continue into the night with a yellow weather warning for the north remaining in place from 6pm on Friday until 9am on Saturday morning.
Snow was also reported on the Glenshane pass, where a multiple-vehicle road crash was reported, and was lying on higher ground with over 10cm expected for the Mournes and Sperrin mountains.

In Glenarm the Coast Road was flooded with motorists forced to head back due to waves breaching the footpath.
A spokesperson said Belfast City Airport had received some disruption to services and Mid and East Antrim Council said some services may have to close at short notice.
Mobile phone networks and power lines could also be affected.
Derry and Strabane Council said they had to temporarily close their recycling centre in Park and Plumbridge.
In the south, power lines in the Castlemain area of County Kerry.
