PSNI Appeal Two men arrested after violent Belfast brawl involving weapons and blades

Two men have been arrested after a fight involving weapons broke out in Belfast on Monday morning.

The brawl, which took place in the Ballynure Street area of north Belfast, was reported shortly before 5.30am on Monday, 27th December.

One man, aged 30, was taken to hospital for stab wounds. He was subsequently arrested for common assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

The second man, aged 22, was arrested for wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, threats to kill, and possessing an article with a blade in a public place.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said that the PSNI are now appealing for witnesses to the altercation to come forward.

“Enquiries are ongoing into this incident, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any suspicious activity, and in particular anyone who may have any dash cam or other footage, to call us on 101, quoting reference number 506 of 27/12/21,” Mr McCartan said.
